A stunning Georgian Hunting Lodge, originally built for The Earl of Durham set in 3 acres of private grounds surrounded by woodland. Built around 1838 this is the perfect place to escape, yet within easy access to Durham, Sunderland, Newcastle and the North East Coast, and only 5 minutes from Doxford Park. Check in from 2pm.

This beautiful country house offers a unique and relaxing environment - something a little bit different for that perfect escape!

Self Assessed 5 Stars Guest House

Accommodation available consists of 1 spacious apartment (The Durham Suite), which has 2 stylish double bedrooms, luxury bathroom, fully equipped modern kitchen & relaxing lounge with dining area which has SKY TV and Wi-Fi. Check in from 2pm.

There are also 2 luxurious double bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms, SKY TV, Tea & Coffee facilities and hairdryers. For those residing in the Roses Room and The Holly Room, a continental or Full English Breakfast is available in the Dining Room, Private Dining can be arranged upon request.

Additional Bed and Cot are available upon request.

The Dining/Breakfast room takes you back in time and is at the heart of the lodge.

All guests also have use of our exquisitely furnished and relaxing lounge which boasts a magnificent open fireplace.


Summer is now on the way, if you choose to stay in the Durham suite for 3 nights, your stay will include our 1 of our special breakfasts for each guest, on the morning of your choice, (normal price £12.50 each). This offer is on until 1st July. See you soon.

 what a fantastic place this is,a real gem,peaceful,excellent facilities and a fantastic breakfast.Set in its own grounds,you can go for a walk around,you may well be joined by ben the dog though!If you like a peaceful break,this is the one for you.
